• Hill roads: Nelliyampathy's ghat roads are winding. Allow additional time for ascent and descent, and use a suitable vehicle with an experienced driver.

• Weather and visibility: Viewpoints can be cloudy or misty, and monsoon rain may affect access. Sightseeing order may need to change according to conditions.

• Attractions and permissions: Opening hours, garden access, ropeway operations, plantation visits and trekking permissions should be reconfirmed before travel. Malampuzha Garden's visitor status should be checked in particular.

• Clothing and essentials: Carry comfortable walking shoes, light layers for cooler hill mornings, sun protection, drinking water and rain protection when appropriate.
